EBC and Gokyo Lake Trek is an ideal trek for trekkers who desires to go on challenging trek in off-the-beaten-trail of Nepal. If you're a novice trekker with good health and physical fitness, you might like to go with Everest View Trek from our package. Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lake Trek starts with a scenic flight to Lukla from Tribhuvan International Airport and hike up to the village in Phakding. The trail follows through the colorful forest of rhododendrons, pine, fir, Juniper and pines, waterfalls, several Sherpa settlements, and crossing several streams and rivers. We continue in the trail of the Himalayas which takes you to the Everest Base Camp and Kalapather first, and we cross Chola Pass and hike up to Gokyo Lake. On the journey, you'll get to witness close-up views of Mt. Everest and from the top of Gokyo Ri, you can see the best of Gokyo valley, which is one of the Himalayas’ unsung treasures. We descend back to our destination via the same route enjoying the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and scenic vistas of the Himalayan peaks.
You'll get the food of very good quality, and we recommend you try local foods while on high-altitude such as dal bhat, boiled potatoes, Sherpa stew (potatoes, meat, vegetables in a rich sauce) or curry with rice but most of the lodge will also offer a wide range of western meals. Our team will help with menu selection and ensure that you get the best hygienic and nutritious food. Most of the tea houses offer a variety of rice and noodle dishes, as well as seasonal vegetables. If you are in Kathmandu, you'll have plenty of options to choose from.
During your EBC and Gokyo Lake Trek, you'll be staying in teahouses most of the time which are comfortable, clean, warm and very well managed, but they do become more basic as you up to higher elevation. Teahouses or guesthouse are your accommodation with twin bed sharing room or triple single as per your choice. You'll find the attached bathroom in lower height area but most of the tea houses don’t have to attach bathroom and in some undeveloped area there won't even be a tea house and lodges so you'll have to bring all stuff like Tent, food and all your necessary items. You'll be staying in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu with luxurious facilities.
