Are you a couple with diverse interests, longing for a memorable adventure that caters to both of your passions? Look no further! Discover Your Edge is designed to ignite the spirit of adventure in both partners, allowing one to embark on an exhilarating trekking expedition while the other delves into the rich cultural tapestry of Nepal.
Imagine this: Six days of separate adventures, where one partner conquers the majestic Himalayan trails, witnessing awe-inspiring vistas and pushing their limits, while the other indulges in captivating cultural experiences. Immerse yourself in the vibrant local markets, join cooking classes to master authentic Nepalese cuisine, and engage with the warm-hearted locals who will welcome you with open arms.
Or, are you a single traveller wanting to be part of an adventure with a fun group of like-minded people? Then you can choose from either option.
Imagine immersing yourself in the vibrant culture of Nepal, where ancient traditions meet breathtaking landscapes. Our adventure begins in Kathmandu, the bustling capital city that serves as the gateway to the majestic Himalayas. Explore UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as the awe-inspiring Boudhanath Stupa and the sacred Pashupatinath Temple. Experience the intricate architecture, vibrant colours, and spiritual energy that permeate the city.
But our journey goes beyond sightseeing. We believe in making a positive impact, so we've dedicated a day to giving back. Together, we'll visit a local school, interact with the students, and engage in meaningful activities that uplift their spirits.
Throughout your stay in Kathmandu, you'll enjoy the comfort and luxury of Hotel Shanker, a haven of tranquillity amidst the bustling city. Hotel Shanker is a heritage hotel, housed in a 19th-century palace within walking distance to popular places such as Thamel and Durbar Marg, Kathmandu's tourist hubs. It was the royal residence of the rulers of Nepal from 1894 until 1964, when it was converted into a luxury hotel. The facade was kept intact but the interiors were redesigned to give travellers the kind of comfort they'd expect of a world class hotel. The hotel is characterised by exquisite and authentic objects d'art. For example, the carved windows displayed in the lobby bar are over 200 years old.
Venture into the wild and breathtaking landscapes of Chitwan, located in the lush Terai lowlands of Nepal. Here, you'll discover the natural wonders of Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Feel the thrill of an exhilarating jungle safari as you navigate through dense forests, cruise along the rivers, and encounter diverse wildlife. From majestic elephants and graceful deer to rare one-horned rhinos and elusive Bengal tigers, Chitwan National Park offers an extraordinary opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of the animal kingdom.
After each adventurous day, find solace and relaxation at Hotel Jungle Crown, a tranquil oasis amidst the wilderness, where you can reflect on the day's experiences and recharge for the next leg of the journey. Particular attention has been given to integrating the building among the indigenous trees and plants, to enhance and to preserve the beauty of the local surroundings.
Next, we'll journey to Pokhara, a picturesque city nestled in the lap of the Annapurna mountain range. It serves as the starting point for our trekking adventure or non-trekking option which is the unique feature of this whole adventure.
For those seeking an adrenaline-pumping experience, our trekking tour will take you through picturesque trails, including the famous Ghorepani and Poon Hill, offering breathtaking sunrise views of the majestic Himalayas. Traverse through lush forests, cross gushing rivers, and challenge yourself physically and mentally as you conquer each step of the trek. Our experienced guides will ensure your safety and provide insightful commentary along the way, enhancing your understanding of the region's rich cultural and natural heritage.
For those who prefer a non-trekking option, we'll embark on a captivating side tour to Lumbini in the Terai plains of Southern Nepal to the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Lumbini is considered to be one of the holiest places of one of the world's great religions, and its remains contain important evidence about the nature of Buddhist pilgrimage centres from as early as the 3rd century BC.
From there we head to Bandipur, a village steeped in history and enchanting with its solitary flag stoned street and exquisite wooden Newari architecture. Once a bustling stop on the trade route to Tibet, this town now welcomes visitors to its converted merchant homes, transformed into cozy guesthouses and charming cafes. And you will enjoy this for yourself by spending the night at the Old Inn.
The non-trekking tour arrives back in Pokhara two days before the trekking tour and you'll enjoy the comforts of Temple Tree Resort, a serene retreat nestled amidst nature's beauty. Named after the fragrant temple tree plant frangipani found here, Temple Tree offers a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Nestling close by Fewa Lake in the Pokhara Valley, Temple Tree is framed by the foothills and majestic peaks of the Annapurna Mountain Range. During these two days there will be plans that include: Indulging in cooking classes, exploring local markets, or simply unwinding and soaking in the serene ambiance.
After the trek or side tour, we take a moment to reconnect with ourselves at a tranquil yoga and meditation retreat for a full day. Allow your mind to find peace, your body to relax, and your spirit to rejuvenate amidst the serene surroundings. Immerse yourself in ancient practices, guided by experienced instructors who will help you explore mindfulness, self-reflection, and personal growth. It's a valuable opportunity to integrate your experiences, reflect on your journey, and set intentions for the future. Following the retreat, you'll have some free time to explore on your own, connect with fellow travellers, or simply savour the tranquillity of Nepal's natural beauty.
As the journey nears its end, we return to Kathmandu for the final two nights at the Kathmandu Guest House, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the city's vibrant energy, explore its hidden gems, or simply relax and reflect on the incredible transformation you've experienced. Feel the sense of accomplishment as you look back on the challenges you've overcome, the connections you've made, and the growth you've achieved. This is your time to celebrate your journey and embrace the possibilities that lie ahead.
Throughout the entire trip, our dedicated team of experienced guides and coach will be by your side, ensuring your safety, comfort, and personal growth. We understand that true growth happens when we step outside our comfort zone, so we've carefully crafted an itinerary that strikes the perfect balance between adventure, cultural immersion, and personal development. GLIMPSE INFORMATION OF TREK
Arrive into Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Kathmandu on November 14 before 4pm if possible so we can pick you up and get you settled before dinner. Departure Day is Wednesday 29 November.
If you want to come earlier or stay later for some further exploring, please contact us to arrange additional nights’ accommodation or tours as needed.
For those who haven’t met me yet, something you may not know is that a bit over ten years ago I found myself feeling lost and unhappy. I lacked purpose and felt trapped in my job and my life, and I honestly didn’t know what I needed to do to get myself onto a new path in life. Because the old one wasn’t doing me much good!
In 2015, in a moment of inspiration - or desperation, I'm not sure which - I challenged myself to complete a trek to Everest Base Camp. Which was completely out of left field as I’d never done any trekking before!
To this day, I still can't put my finger on why I chose something like this to blast me out of my comfort zone, but it literally did. Getting to EBC was the hardest thing I had ever done but it left me feeling physically and mentally elated. And in the process, I developed a mantra that I still use to this day: I am strong. I can do this.
After returning to Nepal in 2017 to trek Annapurna Circuit, I discovered that I wanted to share this growth and magical journey with others. So, are you ready to step out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself, and tap into your untapped potential? Join us on an extraordinary adventure that will ignite your spirit of exploration and unlock the best version of yourself.
Have you ever visited Nepal? Or looking forward to pay a visit in the coming days. Who knows maybe you have better rendezvous with Nepal even from the foreign lands. If you haven’t visited yet, then you might be missing something spectacular. Nepal, a small kingdom of Himalayas is the perfect blend of nature’s grandeur and gods’ generosity. Be it hiking through the lesser-known trails or flying along hot air balloon, mountain biking through the rugged settings of Upper Mustang, jumping off with a rope, an expedition to the world’s highest peak, Everest, Nepal is the mecca for holidays and to those travel junkies. Nepal never fails to amuse its visitors, wandering souls around the globe and their travel quest are also quenched to some extent with its vibes and calmness.
