Introduction
Pikey Peak Trek is newly discovered and one of the best hilltops to see the majestic view including mighty Everest, Kanchenjunga along with other mountains in the Ramechap district of Nepal. The trek trail to Pikey Peak is less traveled than the other trekking in the Everest region which takes you to beautiful areas of the Everest Region inhabited by Sherpa people. Interacting with local Sherpa people as you pass through several villages is the best opportunity to get some insights into the unique culture and practices of Sherpa people living in those areas. The historical monasteries, stupas and other ancient monuments that you come across on your way to Pikey Peak give you an amazing feeling. The view of the Himalayas: Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Gauri Shanker, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Thamserku, Mera peak, throughout this trek are spectacular. Standing at an elevation of 4067 meters, Pikey Peak is a moderate trek suitable for all kinds of trekkers.
Pikey Peak Trek starts with a scenic drive to Dhap Bazaar from Kathmandu. The trail passes through many settlements and rhododendron forests to the Pikey Danda. Pikey Danda is the main highlight of this trek which provides the best sunrise and sunset view over snow-clad mountains. Pikey Peak is famous for its tranquil landscapes, rich Sherpa culture, and majestic mountain views. Months of September – December, and February – June are the best time of the year for Pikey Peak Trek.

Best Season to do the Pikey Peak Trek
The best season to do the Pikey Peak Trek in Nepal is during the months of September to November and March to May. During these months, the weather is typically clear and dry, with blue skies and good visibility. This makes it the ideal time to enjoy the stunning mountain views and landscapes along the trek.
September to November is the peak trekking season in the region and offers the best weather conditions for trekking, as well as the opportunity to see the vibrant harvest festival of Tihar, also known as the Festival of Lights.
March to May is also a good time to trek, as the weather starts to clear up after the winter months and the Rhododendron forests along the trail are in full bloom, adding an extra burst of color to the already stunning scenery.
It is important to note that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable and can change quickly, so it is always recommended to be prepared for changing conditions. Additionally, trekkers should be aware that the Gokyo Lakes trek is considered a challenging trek, and proper acclimatization and physical fitness are necessary to complete the trek successfully.
Food
During Pikey Peak Base Camp Trek, you will have the option to select the food from the menus in which Nepalese, Chinese, Western, and Indian foods are available. The foods will be all home-cooked, hygienic, fresh, tasty, and nutritious. You'll get the best dishes available at the teahouse or lodge including popular Nepali Bhat, Pasta, Cereals, Eggs, Noodles, Potatoes, Vegetables, Fried rice, Soup, etc, and other Nepali food, Chinese Food, American food, Indian food, Continental food, etc. We recommend you have lemon tea, hot lemon, garlic soup, green tea, ginger tea, etc to stay away from high-altitude problems. You'll have different varieties of food options during your stay in Kathmandu.
Accommodation
Accommodations during the Pikey Peak Base Camp are at teahouses which are necessarily teahouses but where you'll feel at home and get a chance to explore rich Nepali culture and tradition. All the teahouses are run by locals and provide all the basic facilities including a hot shower at a low extra charge. You'll find the room simple and comfortable usually with two beds with a mattress blanket and pillows. Some will have an en-suite bathroom but most have shared bathrooms with the squat toilet in mountain areas. During your stay in Kathmandu, accommodation is more luxurious. We stay at hotels with a single room and attached bathrooms, 24-hour hot water, power, TV, and laundry facility.

Day 3: Drive to Patale dada alt 3500m
Day 4: Trek to Japre alt 2945m
Day 5: Trek to Pikey peak base camp , alt. 3640m.
Day 6: Hike to pikey viewpoint( alt. 4070m) for sunrise view
Day 7: Trek to Junbesi , alt. 2300m.
Day 8: Trek to Taksindu dada alt.2600m
Day 9: Trek back to Phaplu visit Chwang monastery alt 1900m
Day 10: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu , alt. 1300m.
Day 11: Departure
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu , alt. 1300m
Arrival day in Kathmandu, where you will be received by our representatives with a warm welcome and take you to the respective hotels in the bustling city of Kathmandu valley, Thamel. After all the hotel check-in process, You'll meet our guide who'll brief with information regarding your trip to Pikey Peak base camp. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Trip preparation day
This is your trek preparation day in Kathmandu which is going to be a busy day because of numerous options for short and interesting tour which leads you around beautiful and historic sites of the valley. We'll take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Swayambhunath. Overnight at the same hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Patale dada alt 3500m
We leave Kathmandu behind the early morning for our trip to Pikey Peak where we will take a private or local bus from Kathmandu to Patale Dada. Scenic drive to takes you to Patale Dada for overnight stay.
Day 4: Trek to Japre alt 2945m
We kick off our trek early morning and continue along the bumpy roads to Jhapre. It is a famous vantage point to view the mountains situated in the northern region of Nepal. We can see the mighty Everest (8,848m) and the Numbur Himal and also visit gompas and stupas in the village. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 5: Trek to Pikey peak base camp , alt. 3640m.
The walk goes along uphill stone stairs and the more you go high we will have wider views. We can have a beautiful Himalayan range view including the world's highest Mt. Everest and Mt. Makalu and others. You'll also see several Yak grazing fields and you can also test fresh yak milk, yogurt, and cheese. Overnight at Pikey Peak base camp.
Day 6: Hike to pikey viewpoint( alt. 4070m) for sunrise view
This happens to be the most important and beautiful day of our Pikey Peak base camp trek where you'll explore around Pikey Peak base camp at 4,067 and go to viewpoint for spectacular view of mountain ranges including Kangtega (6685m), Khatang (6853m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Number Chuli (6959m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Thamserku (6608m), Manaslu (8163m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), and Langtang. Overnight stay.
Day 7: Trek to Junbesi , alt. 2300m.
We follow the dusty trail downhill along the Junbesi Khola until reaching a steel suspension bridge. We cross the bridge and we will reach Beni Ghat and continue our walk along the trail filled with scenic pleasures to reach Junbesi and also visit Thuchuncheli Monastery. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Trek to Taksindu dada alt.2600m
We can also observe the Sherpa cultural dance performance on request at Taksindu Dada. It is an easy downhill walk, that takes us to the beautiful settlement of Taksindu Dada. Overnight stay.
Day 9: Trek back to Phaplu visit Chwang monastery alt 1900m
This is probably the last day of our walk where we'll walk downhill towards Phaplu and also visit Chwang Monastery along the way. The trail is easy and scenic so, we'll try to enjoy every bit of our trek. We'll celebrate the success of our trek at Phaplu with tasty local food and Sherpa cultural program. Overnight stay.
Day 10: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu , alt. 1300m.
Early morning scenic flight to Kathmandu takes approximately about 30 minutes from Phaplu. You can relax at the Hotel or do sightseeing around the Thamel market in your free time before you head back to your next destination. Overnight stay.
Day 11: Departure
Our airport representative will drop you to the airport for your flight back home as per your flight schedule.
