Introduction

Limi Valley Trek is a thrilling off-the-beaten-path adventure that takes you into the untouched upper valleys of Limi which was opened to foreigners in 2002. Limi Valley borders on Tibet in the far west of Nepal where you can witness true vibrant Tibetan culture and lifestyle, due to the matrimonial relationship between Western Nepal and Tibet. During the course of this trek, you'll have an opportunity to encounter endangered species of animals like wild yak, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, blue sheep, wolf, marmot, kyang, barking deer, snow leopard, etc. The trail to Limi Valley goes through cultivated land, yak pastures, waterfalls, and rivers, down ravines and through interesting villages. From the viewpoint of Yak Kharka, you'll get to witness an excellent view of Mount Kailas. The best months for this adventure are from May to October, as the high passes are likely to be covered in snow for the rest of the year.

Limi Valley Trek starts from Nepalgunj to Simikot by flight. Simikot is the district headquarter of Humla district from where our walk starts. We head towards north from this high pass to reach Limi Valley where you'll find simply incredible. After arriving at Limi Valley, you'll see Tibetan culture having typical Tibetan language, tradition, and lifestyle that are prominent cultural aspects of this trek. We descend back to SImikot and fly back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.
