Nar Phu Valley Trek adventurous and wild trek takes you to the exotic and enthralling valley of Nar Phu in the wild and undiscovered region north of Annapurna Himalaya in Manag districted, Nepal. 

The Nar Phu Valley journey starts in Dharapani, following the famous Annapurna Circuit trail, and then branches off from Koto to follow the off-the-beaten-path to Nar Phu Valley in the north of Manang, passing the Kang La pass with a magnificent view of the Annapurna massifs and Himlung Himal, Pisang peak including 100s of beautiful  Annapurna Himalayas peaks.  Trekking to this hidden mountain valley provides a medieval Tibetan life experience. Culture in its natural state, dramatic mountain views, and breathtaking alpine scenery.

Nar and Phu Valley are associated with the Manang area, and several old Tibetan villages like Pisang, Nawal, and Humde in Manag Valley by the Kang La pass (alt. 5219m)

The valley system above uncovers a wide area of high snow-capped peaks, ancient villages, and high-altitude grazing settlements.

Additionally, after we explore the untouchable beauty of Nar and Phu Valley you will travel over the Kang la Pass to the village of Ngwala. We rejoined the Annapurna Circuit at Ngwala to travel to Manang. We continue our journey to Yak Kharka and then Thorong  Phedi. Before we cross the world's longest and highest high pass the Thorong La Pass (alt.5416m),  Thorong Phedi is the ideal place to stay a night. After crossing, the Throng la Pass You will arrive at Muktinath, a popular Hindu, and Buddhist pilgrimage site. An eternal flame and 108 holy sprouts make this an attractive pilgrimage spot.

You will make your way to Jomsom, from Muktinath. You'll stay the night at Jomsom before flying back to Pokhara from Jomsom. Where your journey comes to an end.

Day 1: Arrive in kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel (alt.130m)
Day 2: Trek Preparetion day
Day 3 : Drive to Dharapani from kathmandu 6/7 hours. (alt.1900m)
Day 4: Trek from Dharapani to Koto , 5 hours walk , alt. 2500m
Day 5: Trek from Kote to Meta (alt. 3650m), 7 to 8 hours.
Day 6: Trek from Meta To Phu Gaun , 7/8 hours , (alt.4200m)
Day 7: Phu Exploration Day.
Day 8: Trek back to Nar phedi. 5 to 6 hours (Alt. 3500m.)
Day9: Trek to Nar gaun (Alt. 4200m), 3hrs
Day 10: Trek to Nwal via Kang – la pass (Alt. 5300m) 9 to 10 hours.
Day 11: Trek to Manag , 4 hours , (alt. 3400m.)
Day 12: Trek Mang to Yak Kharka , 4 hours , Alt. 4050m
Day 13: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong la Phedi or High camp , 4 to 5 hours. (Alt. 4500m)

Day 16: Fly to Pokhara from Jomsom. ( 30 minutes) , Alt.740m
Day 1: Arrive in kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel (alt.130m)

Day 2: Trek Preparetion day

After a warm breakfast at the Hotel, you will go for short sightseeing to Showyambhunath temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. afternoon you have free time for trip preparation for the following program.

Day 3 : Drive to Dharapani from kathmandu 6/7 hours. (alt.1900m)

Early in the morning, we will drive to Dharapani via Beshishar for about 7 to 8 hours. Along the way you will cross several local villages, Rivers, waterfalls, beautiful landscapes, Hills many more. 

 

We stop for lunch at Beshishar, and after lunch and a short break, you will continue to drive to Dharapani for another 4 to 5 hours off road.  To Beshishar from Kathmandu, the road is much better and black top in most places, After Beshishar  to Dharapani is rougher and rucky and bumping and gingzak 

tonight we stop in Dharapani at a tea house. 


Day 4: Trek from Dharapani to Koto , 5 hours walk , alt. 2500m

Today, after breakfast we start our day, it's short and easy gradual ascending to koto. While walking today, we will cross a few villages like Bagarchhap, Danaque, and latamanag. On the way, we will stop for lunch and a tea break.  if the weather allows us we will have a great view of Mount Manaslu, Annapurna II, and Lamjung Himal. Kote is located 30 minutes early from Chame Bazaar.


Day 5: Trek from Kote to Meta (alt. 3650m), 7 to 8 hours.

We will start the day early in the morning because it takes many hours to reach our camp, and during our trek today, we will cross the river and green and cool forest, mainly we will follow today Marsayangdi riv river to enter the Nar – Phu valleys. Nar – Phu Valley is not developing as an Annapurna circuit trekking trail, but this Is not the case in these valleys.

 

Today we will pass through beautiful forests, wood, caves, shelters many more.. the trail leads us very small and narrow canyon after we walk for 4 to 5 hours through the jungle and cross a few times rivers finally we will climb one hour uphill to reach Meta. Once we reach Meta we will see a beautiful view of snowcaps, hills, and some of the mountains.


Day 6: Trek from Meta To Phu Gaun , 7/8 hours , (alt.4200m)

Today is quite a long day trek again, along the way we will pass several unique, colorful Tibetan Buddhist chortens, old monasteries, small caves, shelters, and beautiful snowy mountains, and it's very famous in Nar – Phu Valley. After 2 to 3 hours of gradually ascend walk through canyons and gorges, you will reach a monolith.

From here, you can get your first view of the three villages in the area as well as the old “dzong” (Tibetan-style fortress) and the remains of two ruined forts, impressively situated atop the flatlands before the village. Just before crossing the bridge into Phu, a line of wonderful Chortens color the landscape.

In let afternoon you feel to walk a little around the you can go to see the famous Tashi Lhakhang Gompa to pay respects to lama karma Sonam Rimpoche who came to Nepal a long time ago.


Day 7: Phu Exploration Day.

Today is rest and exploration day, you can start in let morning and walk around the villages and monasteries, and Chortens, but if you still want to go a little higher then Phu gain then you can hike to Himlung Himal basecamp. You can decide this when you reach there. But this hike will but more challenging and adventure.


Day 8: Trek back to Nar phedi. 5 to 6 hours (Alt. 3500m.)

Today is easy and gradual to descend to Nar Pedi the same way as we trek Phu from Meta. But still, we will see beautiful mountains view and explore the beauty of the hidden valley in Nar – Phu.


Day9: Trek to Nar gaun (Alt. 4200m), 3hrs

 

Today is a very gentle day we don’t need to hurry to wake up this morning, we can start our day let, but it's only a 2 to 3- hour walk up to Nar villages, mostly we have to ascend through the wonderfully painted top bamboo shortens. We will reach camp today by lunchtime, after lunch you can walk around the Nar villages to see the local lifestyle and monastery.


Day 10: Trek to Nwal via Kang – la pass (Alt. 5300m) 9 to 10 hours.

 

Today is a long day, so get up before sunrise and head towards the Kang La Pass, which leads back onto the popular Annapurna Circuit. It is not a difficult pass, but it can be a long day as the effects of altitude will be felt. Once on top of the pass, you can enjoy an amazing view over

Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. The trail down starts off steep, but if you enjoy scree running you can have some fun! Stop for lunch on a plateau overlooking the peak, then continue towards Ngawal.

Ngawal, on the upper Pisang route of the Annapurna Circuit, is certainly very different from the ancient villages just visited. The lodges are big, the menus much more comprehensive and there will be Wifi and phone signals in most lodges.

 


Day 11: Trek to Manag , 4 hours , (alt. 3400m.)

Easy day today, we will start our trek let in the morning.  we trek today from Nwal to Manag, approx it takes 3 to 4 hours. along we will have a great view of Mount Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV and  Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak including several local Tibetain villages and their daily basic lifestyle. 


Day 12: Trek Mang to Yak Kharka , 4 hours , Alt. 4050m

Another short trek day today. we will trek from Manag to Yak Kharka, we will be reached by lunch time. after lunch, you will have free time if you want you can also go for a short hike or rest and relax at the tea house. 


Day 13: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong la Phedi or High camp , 4 to 5 hours. (Alt. 4500m)

Before we cross the world's highest and longest pass the Annapurna mountain region we will stay overnight at Thorong la Phedi (alt.4500m to 4700m at high camp).  after a short trek today from Yak Kharka to Thorong la Phedi, after lunch and afternoon you will have some free time so you can also go for a short hike of about 2 to 300m and prepare for tomorrow's big day trek to Thorong la pass (alt.5416m) and trek to Muktinath. as we knew, you will start tomorrow morning very early in the morning we will have an early dinner today and go to bed.


Day 15: Trek to Muktinath (alt. 3800m) via Thorng la pass (Alt.5416m) 8/9 hours.

Today is another highlights day of this trek, we will cross one of the most beautiful and longest high passes in the Annapurna region. 

We will start our day very early in the morning to avoid the high and speed windy on the top of the Thorong la top (alt.5416m) and for a good clear view of Annapurna Himalaya from a close distance. if we go in let morning then we will miss the good view and the afternoon is always windy in the mountains,  so every trekker use to go early in the morning. and we will do the same. 

From Thorong Phedi to Thorong la Pass top generally, it takes 4 to 5 hours, the trail is mostly ascending,  and after the top to Muktinath,  3 to 4 hours mainly descending. On the top, you can stop for 20 to 30 minutes to celebrate your goal to reach the top of Thorong la Pass. From the top to Muktinath the trail is a mostly steep descent. before we reach Muktinath along the trail there is a basic lunch place here we can also stop for hot lunch before reaching Muktinath. 

Muktinath is a popular Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims site, where you can take a natural 108 top baths and visit the old monasteries. additionally, you have a magnificent view of Mount Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri mountains from your tea house including the Upper Mustang trek trail and landscapes, which are totally different than other areas of nature in Nepal.


Day 15: Trek to Jomsom , 5 hours ,( alt. 2700m)

Today is the last day walk of our trek, between Muktinath and Jomsom there are so many nice places to see including beautiful mountain views from a close distance. 

In total, we trek today for 4 to 5 hours to reach Jomsom from Muktinath. along the way to Jomsom, we can also visit Kagbeni village. this place is a more open and windy valley, we can't see much greenery forest for many trees in this region. this area is drier and looks like a desert. 

 


Day 16: Fly to Pokhara from Jomsom. ( 30 minutes) , Alt.740m

With great memories of Nar - Phu valley and the Annapurna circuit trek you will fly to Pokhara by air from Jomsom in the morning. and transfer to your hotel in Pokhara and where your treks come ends.
