After breakfast, you will go for a half-day sightseeing tour to the most popular tourist sites - Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square, both of which are world heritage sites among the seven popular heritage sites in Kathmandu, Nepal. During the short sightseeing tour, you will have a great moment to learn many things about history, culture, and religions. After returning to Thamel in the afternoon, you will have time for trip preparation and last-minute backpack arrangements for the final departure of the Everest Base Camp trek.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla (Altitude: 2780m) and Trek to Phakding (Altitude: 2610m)
In the early hours of the morning, We will board a domestic flight departing from Kathmandu to reach Lukla, which marks the starting point of our trek. During this approximately 35-minute flight, we will have the opportunity to marvel at the breathtaking emerald landscapes and majestic snow-capped mountains. Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (Altitude: 3400m) - 5 to 6 Hours
Today's route is a delightful mix of gentle ascents and descents, interspersed with crossings of the enchanting Dudh Koshi River. Our journey leads us to the significant entry point of Monjo, marking our arrival at the revered Sagarmatha National Park. Crossing sturdy bridges, and exchanging stories with fellow trekkers and knowledgeable local guides, we revel in the natural splendor enveloping us. Steadily advancing, we reach Jorsale, the final village before the legendary Namche Bazaar. The iconic Hillary suspension bridge signals our ascent to Namche, where weather permitting, we are bestowed with breathtaking views of Kwangde Peak, Kusum Kangaru, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Tawache, and other majestic peaks. Our night shall be spent amidst the lively ambiance of Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the captivating Khumbu region.
Day 5: Rest Day at Namche Bazaar (Altitude: 3410m) - Acclimatize and Immerse in the Sherpa Culture
Today is a rest day in Namche. You'll embark on a short hike to Everest viewpoint (Alt. 3800m) after breakfast. A 30-40 minute warm-up hike from the lodge leads to the Sagarmatha National Park office and Mount Everest museum center, providing a strengthened view of the Mount Everest range and other majestic peaks. Continue for two more hours to reach Everest View Hotel for acclimatization and a close-up view of Mount Everest and other Himalayan peaks. Enjoy hot tea at the hotel before returning to Namche Bazaar for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the local market and visit the old monastery in Namche. Overnight stay at a tea house.
Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phortse (Altitude: 3800m) - 4 to 5-Hour
Leaving Namche behind, we venture towards Tengboche Monastery, passing through vibrant rhododendron forests. The trail gradually ascends to Kyanjungma, a two-hour journey from Namche, where we can pause for hot tea. Continuing onward, we trek to Mong la Dada (alt. 4040m), where a delightful hour-long lunch break awaits. From Mong la Dada, we are treated to breathtaking views of Mount Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache, Chola Tse, and other splendid peaks. The final two-hour stretch leads us through picturesque rhododendron and pine forests, offering the chance to encounter wildlife and diverse bird species. Phortse village, renowned as the most captivating Sherpa village in the Everest region, becomes our overnight haven. Many accomplished Sherpa mountaineers hail from this town. Overnight stay at a tea house.
Day 7: Trek from Phortse to Dingboche (Altitude: 4410m) - 5 to 6-Hour Trek
After breakfast, we embark on a 5 to 6-hour trek from Phortse village to Dingboche. This trail takes us to old sherpa housings, great views of Mount Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam, alongside other stunning Himalayan peaks. Dingboche village, lies at an altitude of 4410m, from the sea level and is known for its old sherpa settlements.
Day 8: Rest Day in Dingboche (Altitude: 4410m) - Conquer Nagarjung Hill and Witness Mesmerizing Views above 5000m
We dedicate day 8 of the trek to exploring Dingboche at an altitude of 4410 m. On this day we will take a rest to make ourselves fit for the rest of the trek. This day is to immerse yourself in the Sherpa communities. We will take on a short yet rewarding hike to Nagarjung Hill, above 5000m.
Day 9: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (Altitude: 4900m) - 4 to 5 Hours
On day 9 will be heading towards Lobuche leaving Dingboche behind.
We will be trekking for around five hours to reach Lobuche. Lobuche is another important point on the way to the Everest base camp. Lobuche is about 4900m above sea level. This region lies near the Khumbu region and is home to Lobuche Peak.
Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (Altitude: 5364m) and Return to Gorakshep (Altitude: 5100m) - 8 to 9 Hours of Exhilarating Trekking
This is the biggest day of your trek as you will get to Everest Base Camp, located at an altitude of 5364m on this day. A difficult 8 to 9-hour trek over untamed territory and stunning scenery is required. When you arrive at Everest Base Camp, you'll be able to take in the breathtaking grandeur of the nearby Himalayan peaks and the hive of activity that goes on there. You will return to Gorakshep, which is located at 5100m, after spending some time in the base camp there, where you can recuperate and consider your accomplishment.
Day 11: Early Morning Hike to Kala Patthar Viewpoint (Altitude: 5550m) and Return to Gorak Shep, then Pheriche (Altitude: 4370m) - 7 to 8 Hours
